A few years ago I remember sitting on Main Street eating an ice cream cone and staring at this wall across the way filled with words and things I can could barely read from where I was sitting. Walking closer I realized it was a wall of hope and inspiration for people to fulfill their dreams and aspirations.
Over the last year or so I got to know Karl L. Larsen, a local artist, who brought these community projects into the city. It was interesting talking to Karl over time as we had both been survivors of major accidents and I can see where this all fits in. I had the pleasure of documenting some of the moments before the wall went up and the day it was released to the public. The world's largest Before I Die wall came to West Columbia this year in August. The wall is located in the West Columbia amphitheater and is available to the public until the end of the month.
