A few weeks ago, I was invited to attend the Columbia City Ballet's wine tasting and open studio rehearsal of Aladdin called "Ballet Uncorked" on an early Sunday evening. Truth be told, I can't even remember the last time I've been to the ballet or a dance production aside from the time my youngest niece appeared in The Nutcracker many moons ago down at the Koger Center.
As a photographer it can be quite enjoyable trying to capture certain moves or scenes in a dance studio. One of my favorite shots was here with the incredibly talented, Regina Willoughby and if you look carefully, you will see my reflection in the mirror to the right with the green sweater. Sometimes I feel better doing photographs of rehearsals as there's less pressure on the people performing in front of a live paying audience. Down the road, I wouldn't mind taking in a show and doing photography there or a production poster of sorts.
